Mercyhealth to host dinner seminar highlighting eczema

CRYSTAL LAKE, Illinois—Mercyhealth will host Understanding Eczema, a free dinner seminar on  Wednesday, April 23, 5:30 pm, at the Holiday Inn Chicago–Crystal Lake, Elara Convention Center, 800 S. Route 31.

Dr. Minh Nguyen, allergist/immunologist, and Nicole Gladchenko, dermatology physician assistant, will lead the discussion. Topics include:

• What is eczema?
• Symptoms of eczema
• Diagnosing eczema
• Managing and treating eczema
• Role of food allergies in eczema
• 
  

Eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, is a common skin condition that causes itchiness, rashes, dry patches and infection. Because many people with eczema also have allergies, doctors may order allergy tests to look for irritants or triggers.
