Local Experts to Address the Menopause Journey Panel Discussion Featuring Live Q&A and Community Resource Expo

Crystal Lake, IL — Women navigating menopause and perimenopause are invited to gather for an evening of education and connection at the upcoming Women’s Forum: Managing Menopause – Live Q&A and Midlife Wellness Expo on June 11th at 6:30pm at Smith Physical Therapy+ in Crystal Lake.

Designed to provide clarity and practical guidance during a stage of life that can often feel confusing and isolating, the event will bring together trusted local professionals to answer questions and discuss the physical, emotional, and hormonal changes women commonly experience during midlife.

The collaborative event was inspired by a conversation with My Density Matters, an organization dedicated to educating women about breast cancer screenings and the impact breast density can have on accurate detection and diagnosis. The event aims to create a welcoming space where women can learn and ask questions in a supportive environment. The discussion will be moderated by Denise Smith, PT, CMPT, a physical therapist specializing in women’s health and movement, and attendees will hear from a panel of experienced professionals specializing in women’s health:

- Irene Kok, FDN-P, GetUFit — Specializes in nutrition and strength training to support women through midlife body changes and menopause.

- Dr. Jing Liang, MD, Wellbridge — Blends conventional medical expertise with integrative and functional medicine to address pain and inflammation management during menopause.

- Dr. Yvonne Karney, MD, FACOG, ABAARM, Vitality Renewal — Provides medical expertise in restorative and hormonal approaches to help women feel their best in midlife.

- MaryAnn Dolezal, MA, LCPC, Center for Emotional Wellness — Specializes in emotional health, stress, sleep, and mental well-being during life transitions, including menopause.

Topics throughout the evening will include hormone changes, sleep issues, weight gain, pain management, emotional health, movement, nutrition, and practical wellness strategies for women in midlife. Attendees will also have the opportunity to submit anonymous questions during the live Q&A panel.

In addition to the educational discussion, guests will be able to connect with local organizations, services, and wellness providers during the resource expo portion of the event.

Whether currently experiencing symptoms, searching for answers, or simply wanting to better understand menopause, organizers hope the event will help women feel informed and supported.
