About
Helping Paws is a no-kill, non-profit 501(c)(3) animal shelter, founded in 1969. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for stray and abandoned dogs and cats of the community.
Additional Info
We are currently located in Woodstock, IL, in a 10,000 sq. ft. shelter, built in 2006, housing up to 125 cats/kittens and 45 dogs/puppies.
We rescue hundreds of animals each year from overcrowded animal controls in the Midwest, who are at high risk of euthanasia. Others are pulled from humane societies, where puppy mills, backyard breeders, hoarding houses, or testing labs have been shut down and animals have been confiscated and need a safe place to land. Some are local relinquishments from owners who are no longer able to care for their pets.
Helping Paws provides all incoming animals with food, shelter, medical care, including vaccinations, deworming, blood & fecal testing, spay or neuter, microchip, as well as lots of love and attention. Their journey at Helping Paws ends with each pet's adoption into a loving, responsible, forever home and family.
