Crystal Lake Chamber Host 2025 State of the Community Luncheon

The Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce hosted the 2025 State of the Community Luncheon on Friday, February 14, at the Holiday Inn Crystal Lake. The event was well attended by Chamber members, community leaders, and representatives from the Village of Lakewood and the City of Crystal Lake.

During the luncheon, Mayor Haig proudly announced that Crystal Lake led McHenry County in auto sales last year and ranked 10th in the Chicago area for home improvement sales.

Attendees also received an overview of upcoming developments in Crystal Lake. Notable projects include planned renovations at Depot Park, which will introduce additional seating and a dedicated performance area, as well as the completion of a new lakeside path at Three Oaks Recreation Area off Route 14, scheduled for 2026.

A city-produced video showcased key highlights from the past year, featuring achievements from local schools, the library, and various community agencies. Among the notable accomplishments, District 155 ranked in the top 14% of high schools nationwide.

The Village of Lakewood’s updates were presented through a narrated video, as Village President David Stravopoulos was unable to attend. The presentation highlighted the new clubhouse at RedTail Golf Club and the anticipated spring opening of Lakewood Meadows Park off Haligus Road.
