Join us on August 2nd when guest speaker Carole Peters discusses the topic of "Saying No When Everyone Else is Saying Yes!"

Carole Peters is a local McHenry County resident who worked for 30+ years in a variety of roles focused on sales, marketing, finance, and nonprofit.  In July 2021, Carole retired after serving as the CEO & President of the United Way of Greater McHenry County.  This past year, Carole has been serving as outgoing board chair for the United Way of Illinois State Association. In 2018, Carole was honored as one of McHenry County’s Women of Distinction.

Carole has a passion for serving in her community and especially focused on inspiring women to find their passion and purpose to live a joy filled life.  As she reflects on her very full life, Carole is reminded of the many times she said “YES” to an invitation when she really felt deep down inside she wanted to say “NO”.  This is why she has offered to speak about “Saying No When Everyone Else is Saying Yes!” Carole lives in Marengo with her husband, JD and together they winter in Marco Island, FL.  In retirement, Carole has said yes to traveling, spending time with her grown children and three beautiful grandchildren, and trying new hobbies like flower gardening and corn hole that have surprisedly brought her great joy.

WEW is open to all Crystal Lake Chamber members and guests. Non-members are more than welcome to attend twice as a guest, but then they are asked to join the Chamber. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of month from 11:30am - 1:00pm.

Our Mission... is to provide a nurturing culture where women of the Chamber can grow personally and professionally.

Our Goal... is to facilitate learning and collaboration through all stages of business development for women. 

We seek to promote greater awareness and understanding of ongoing issues and challenges that women face in business.  We provide opportunities to share, connect, and build strong relationships among members.

WEW meets the first Tuesday of every month (except in January and July).

Our 2022 Charity of the Year is Kids in Need of McHenry County!
